Download your app

Export your RNBlocks app source and understand connected-service dependencies before continuing development.

Use Download .zip in Studio to export your app source. You can continue development outside RNBlocks or hand the project to a developer.

Export the current app

  1. Open the intended app

Check the app and version you want to export. Select Download .zip in the toolbar, or Options (⋯) → Download .zip on a phone. When viewing an older version, the action is Download this version; select Back to latest first if you want the current app.

  2. Open the project

Read the exported project’s instructions and package manifest. Use its dependency versions when installing and running it. If you are keeping an existing database, check which setup steps have already run before applying database changes again.

  3. Verify connected features

Test sign-in, saved data and provider requests in the environment where the app will run.

Account for connected services

A ZIP of app files does not replace a database, provider account or hosted service. Record which services the app needs and who owns each account. Keep service credentials out of client code.

If the app depends on a connection managed through RNBlocks, confirm how the exported app will access that connection. Disconnecting or revoking access can stop features that rely on it.

Source export and publishing are different

A source download is not a signed build or a store submission. Use publishing to prepare the app’s release settings, assets and testing path, or follow the relevant provider workflow with your developer.
