# RNBlocks vs Bolt

> Both RNBlocks and Bolt have mobile workflows. Compare native previews, project handoff and the steps from Expo app to store release.

Bolt supports mobile development with Expo, so the comparison is not simply native versus web. Look at how each workflow takes your specific app from editing to a tested release.

## Bolt’s documented mobile path

Bolt’s Expo guide includes phone preview through Expo Go, then a build-and-publish path using downloaded code and Expo Application Services. It covers iOS testing and App Store release as well as Android builds and Play Console steps.

The guide identifies work performed outside Bolt, including local project setup and provider-console actions. Check the current instructions against the environment you intend to use.

## RNBlocks’ documented mobile path

Section: https://www.rnblocks.dev/docs/comparison/rnblocks-vs-bolt#rnblocks

RNBlocks keeps the app conversation and native preview in Studio. From the app, Publish opens a workspace for listing drafts, release identity, screenshots, connections and reviewed build work.

That workspace helps you track the release, but it does not make all provider steps automatic. Read the account and submission guides for the supported iOS actions and the Google Play steps completed in Play Console.

## Compare a full app change

Section: https://www.rnblocks.dev/docs/comparison/rnblocks-vs-bolt#trial

1. **Build one connected feature** — For example, let a signed-in user save a place. Confirm the saved result survives closing and reopening the app.

2. **Make a second change** — Add an edit action or empty state. Check how easily you understand the changes and recover if the result is wrong.

3. **Prepare a device build** — Record the account setup, tools and approvals needed. Install the result, then verify it matches the preview and uses the intended backend.

4. **Prepare the next release** — Check how each workflow keeps app identifiers, version numbers, signing and store materials consistent for an update.

## Choose the workflow you want to maintain

If you plan to continue in an external editor and Expo tools, include that handoff in the trial. If you want to manage app iteration and release preparation through RNBlocks, try its Studio-to-Publish journey.

Before release, test an installed build and complete the store’s account, listing and review requirements.
